Need some advice. Stuck abroad at the moment because if the pandemic and travel ban restrictions. My car in the UK and road tax is due soon. Does anyone know if DVLA can send the V11 reminder to email address on request so I can tax online from abroad?  I need 16 digits reference number printed in V11 reminder to tax it online.  I have not got V5C keeper log book with me here either.
Would appreciate some advice.

Good question, I think the only way you'd be able to do that is through their call centre. Could you get someone to send you a copy of the v5 so you can do it online?

Is the car on the road at the moment? If not would it be better to sorn it until you get back to the UK?

No, the car is in the garage. I have not given the key from my flat to anyone so can't get v5.

I wonder if you can tweet the question to them - they do seem to have someone replying to various questions on there

Contacted them via one of their media chanels and their advice was just to ring their contact centre. How much is going to cost me to ring that number from abroad just to pay £20 annual tax?
  • Can you not use a service like Skype to ring rather than using an international call?

I assume the suggestion was using Skype to initiate the call from your end so you don't have international charges, they don't need Skype as it will be normal phone call to them

As they don't have skape so how it's going to work?  I need to have skape credit to call a landline number?
