How much for new kitchen and bathroom?

Hi,

How much would a kitchen and bathroom, carpets for the all of a small 2 bedroom flat cost roughly?

I know it’s vague but I don’t have measurements but just want a rough idea. Kitchen and bathroom would need ripping out and it’s a top floor flat with no lift so a bit of a pain.

Thanks

You can get a full bathroom suite for under £200.  Kitchen is impossible to say without at least some idea of the size.

They would want that suite fitted, otherwise the toilet might pong a bit and the carpet will be wet.

Carpet, decent quality ones - Allow £25 per m². You'll often find remnants or end-of-roll pieces for much less.
Do fit a decent thick underlay. Even a cheap carpet will feel so much better for it, and you get a bit of thermal insulation to boot.

Wickes do a great little wet and dry vac for £39, my plumber loves them, chucks them away when they break out of warranty. So, total £239 for new bathroom. Sorted.

Alternatively, replacing a bathroom suite is not at all difficult to DIY as long as you're not moving the position of anything, just replacing like-for-like.

Do you want a basic, functional kitchen or a fancy one with granite / quartz tops.

Same with your bathroom, functional or something a little more fancy?

If it's a property you're looking to buy the sizes should be in the particulars or floor plan.
If they are not, then provide a bit more info like bathroom is small as it only fits a shower, toilet and small sink or a bath, sink, toilet and about a door width space along the side.
With a kitchen say how many cupboards are in it, how many sides it runs down and how many on the walls.

Alternatively, you could have a look on some websites like B&Q, DIY kitchens etc and get a bit of an idea, come back with more info and people can say how much fitting could be. Don't forget prices vary depending on where you are in the UK.

OK, I'm not going to claim it's the best quality - but I think the point being made is that a basic, simple bathroom suite needn't cost thousands.  And if you have the ability to do a DIY install, then you can save money on labour costs as well.
