I would be more worried about the close proximity of the toilet to the living room.

That is small and for me, downstairs is too open plan

That's...compact. If the party wall turns out to be an issue, your problem there is that every room adjoins it. Though I'd be more concerned about the open plan downstairs / staircase meaning all of your downstairs noise/smells travelling upstairs (or vice versa).
It is small but then so are most other starter homes.

Our previous 1930s semi was a small two bed with rooms on the party wall. It is nothing new.

I think that is a nice modern starter home. The running costs will be very small. It will always sell on easily to first time buyers.

I work in the industry and know those maps are far from accurate. Our old house was at the top of a hill yet allegedly had a surface water flood route through the middle of it.

Needless to say in the 12 years we were there we never had a problem.

This house we are in now allegedly gas now surface water flood problems, yet when we get really heavy rain we have a smal stream runs through our back garden!

We have a little spring that occasionally emerges in our front garden. :)
The water runs away harmlessly enough.

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I rarely comment on people's choice of home here, but that is small. Claustrophobic even. You'll be desperate to get out after 2-3 years, does that fit into your life plan? Otherwise look for somewhere with a little more space. These houses were probably sold on the appeal of a new build, now that's lost, what appeal is there?

I can see parking issues, the first photo a car is parked on the bend, well sort of parked.

Parked on pavement, so narrow road, can you pass with a pram or wheelchair?

Open plan kitchen and living room - not for me.
  • Apparently there's a £200 per year estate charge but this has never been paid? Could I potentially be liable for backdated charges?
