Maybe you could get them to paint the wires light grey so they matched the sky
Then they'll put corks on them every 6 feet so birds can see them and not fly into them!
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

I trust the OP isn't taking advantage of the the better service that's probably available from the new cables.
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers
  • If you move to Washington DC, you'll find it's illegal to hang wires in the street. Everywhere else, you can.

    On our AONB:

There is another one of those near me, also built as part of the backbone, everyone is so used to it I am not sure anyone really sees it. Occasionally it is possible to go up it and eight years ago I had the opportunity, amazing views so if you ever get the chance to go up one then do.

That doesn't look like it's near your property though?

We’ve recently had Fibre installed in the area and BT have now installed FIVE FTTP wires in addition to the existing copper wire along the front of our property at different spans creating an eye sore and impeding our views (we live in AONB). I’ve raised a complaint but BT OpenReach say they are in there rights to do this. I’ve looked at neighbouring properties and they seem to just have 2 lines (copper and fibre). I’m in favour of upgrading the network but surely BT OpenReach must be obliged to find a better solution? Any thoughts here?
Apparently, they ARE within their rights to do it.

I'm sorry that some of the responses on this thread are so unhelpful - verging on sarcastic - particularly as forum rules state that we should be friendly and helpful wherever possible but if we can't be those things, then we should move along.

I have to say, though, that I thought all cables were going underground now . . . we have neither poles nor wires in our small street,  or indeed in the area. And now, although I'm quite pleased, I'm also a tad worried . . .

I imagine OP would be the type to buy a house next to a railway line then complain that there are trains
I'd love to have trains rattling past my house. I would rather have trains than people or telegraph posts any day. So soothing, and so exciting!  :)
