Thanks Manxman_in_exile. Much appreciate advice. I didn't know about this Group, but had so far left things at hearing back from Healthwatch, who were asking me to ID the surgery, as they were going to have a meeting soon, after various issues coming up regarding a few surgeries, I presume regarding withholding medications. I never heard back from them further, and am still gearing up to approach a new surgery. Thankfully no more contact necessary with the present GP surgery until next March's review, and I should be with a different surgery by then. Also thankfully, can order top-up pain relief need so can function, via the links kindly given in this thread.

From years of dealing with medical unpleasantness, and taking it on head on/going through the system, I experienced that each stage is as corrupt as the next; you get to a point where it's wiser health-wise to move round the rock rather than beat on it, as any efforts are just viewed as an opportunity to abuse anyway, especially if disabled/isolated. A bigger unified effort would be needed to fix these issues ultimately.

Just to add a note further, after what may have appeared to be an overstating of how unpleasant things can be in the last post ... for the first time, putting in online request for meds has resulted in a hold put on meds ... on calling the chemist, they said no prescription had been sent over to them, so I had to call the GP surgery. They say it's on hold until May 4th. During the original review, I said I'd had no option but to order prescriptions more often, to compensate for the deliberate decreasing of pain meds, so now they're doubling down in making sure pain meds are kept down, even though I was ordering on the day the system said it was fine to order (I used to always wait a week or so until 2-3 years ago). I tried very hard to have the pain meds reinstated, so it's not like I'm trying to get any other prescription items hoarded; just the only way to try to get pain meds to a functioning level.
