Unvented Cylinder: heated by ASHP, solar panels, solar thermal? Novice help.

Novice question: can an unvented cylinder be heated by ASHP, solar panels and solar thermal? All together? Thank you!

A bit more explanation of actually what you've got or exactly what you are trying to achieve might help, however there's no reall reason why you cant although you'd have to ensure that whoever sets it all up knows what they are doing.

My unvented cylinder is connected to an ASHP and its got provision for solar thermal and its got an immersion heater. I don't have solar thermal but there is a kit available for mine (Daikin) which controls solar thermal in conjunction with the ASHP. How are you proposing to heat the tank from solar PV. My immersion is controlled by the ASHP controller and so may not be suitable for a direct connection from solar PV although obviously any solar PV would be used to power the ASHP and by definition the immersion as well if required (which under most circumstances it wont need to be)

• I'm pretty sure that there is a version of my hot water cylinder with provision for a solar thermal coil; I don't have this.  
• When you want the most use from your ASHP you will be getting next to nothing from your solar panels.  
• The output from your solar PV panels in summer may be better matched to a 3 kW immersion heater than the 6 kW or so that your heat pump might use.
