Power of Attorney and Land Registry Registration

Good Evening All
I am in the process of buying a new home. All the enquiries are complete except one ID verification form which both party solicitors are at a stalemate over and is now jeopardising the sale of the property. For some reason our solicitor has some kind of allergic reaction to talking to the other parties solicitor and providing helpful information/next steps, meaning the sellers and I are trying to act as middle men between the solicitors. Here is the situation on our hands:
The owner of the property is now in a care home with dimentia and has limited capacity.
The owners son is power of attorney and looks after the home and the selling of the property.
Our solicitor has requested an ID verification for the donor to be done for me to be registered as owner on the land registry. However due to the limited capacity and lockdown stopping visits to the care home the ID verification cannot be carried out face to face. (the sellers solicitor has also ruled out video call verification).
Is there any other ways in which an ID verification could be carried out? A doctors appointment to the care home which the donor currently lives for instance?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks all!
