From Three PAYG to Three £5 per month - porting number?

Hi folks, my wife has been a Three SIM Only customer for several years, but when they recently increased their charges she decided to change to their £5 per month deal thinking that staying with the same provider would be the easiest option. A new SIM arrived and after using up her existing balance she requested a PAC number to move her original number to the new SIM. Unfortunately Three does not seem to support this and after searching their website and all the FAQs there seems to be no mention of how to do this. Am I missing something obvious? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Normally you can only use a PAC to port your number to another network, but I have the idea somehow that Three do allow moving your number from PAYG to a contract (but not by using PAC). Try calling again to ask, or someone else may clarify here.
Otherwise, you have to port the number out to another network, such as GiffGaff, then back to your Three contract.Evolution, not revolution0 -

Your title and the text in the post ask different questions.
Going from Pay as you go to SIM only monthly contract is possible, see the above post.
Going from a contract to pay as you go is possible if you call them.
But taking out a brand new contract gets a new number you can't port with a PAC (can't move a number contract to contract). Need to call, threaten to cancel and get the price matched instead.0 -
Port it to O2 PAYG and Port back.0

molerat's post is the method I used just over a week ago to port my Three PAYG number to a Three Pay Monthly 12 month contract. I filled in the form and the port took about three days to complete (it should have taken one, but I suppose Covid delayed things).
I would have quoted molerat's post, but as I'm a first time poster and it contains a link, I couldn't.0
