Virgin Media - “local installer” called me, legit??

I went to sign up to VM on their website, added a bundle to my basket etc, then paused as the installation and connection fees were quite high. So I left it in my basket.
Today I got a call from a mobile number from “Jordan”, the local VM agent for my area apparently. He said he’d waive the fees, so I was like great and signed up over the phone. As I was driving, I wasn’t able to give my bank details for the direct debit. He said fine, I can call back with this and for now he’d set up the account and book installation.
I’ve got a confirmation email now with the install date, from “webteam@virginmedia.co.uk”
BUT suddenly I’m now thinking is this legit?? How can I check? I’m loathe to give my bank details otherwise...!

Don't think they're a "local installer" as such but rather a sales team member whose role is to follow up aborted enquiries/orders from the Virgin Website.
Exactly the same thing happened to us recently - a call and text from a mobile (Rob from Virgin Media) an offer of an attractive price for the sort of package were looking for with no set up fees etc. and then a confirmation e-mail of our order also from
webteam@virginmedia.co.uk. Plus 5 or 6 other emails from Virgin re the Sim card they were sending, DD confirmation etc
Two guys also turned up a few days later to install cable from the street to the front of the house.
So if its not legit in our case its certainly an elaborate scam.
