Good morning everyone
Hope you have a lovely day Ruby and get thoroughly spoilt xx
Sending you a big hug Nanny and best wishes to Mr Fix-it for today xx
Hoping your mum manages to keep doing her crosswords for a long while yet Gers xx
Today I have woken up in the doldrums. I think it is a reaction to the past few weeks but I feel very miserable. I spoke to my sister the other day and she went to the hospital on Friday for another scan and barium swallow. She sounded very upbeat about it all though and was waiting for the doctor to decide whether she was going to have chemo first or an operation. When I talk to her I am careful not to be sad as that is not what she wants but afterwards is another story.
I am going to get washed and changed and then I am going to finish knitting some swans. After that I will probably go back to bed. Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx14 -
Morning all
Thank you for the Birthday wishes and the lovely cakesJust me and OH up atm dd is still in bed so waiting for her before opening presents, I have opened my cards and my sister gave me a lovely box of chocs as well as a donation to a breast cancer charity which I set up on my FB page I thought I might get something like £20 for them but its up to £145 so I am thrilled about that, its not the main breast cancer one but a smaller charity that helps people all over the world have access to screening so I am thrilled with that its a nice donation to them. My mum has given me a voucher for a garden centre and I want to buy some snowdrop and crocus bulbs with that and is there is enough some yellow primroses.
I dont think I will make a roast today as Im sure its illegal to cook on your birthday ? so I might get OH to do steak and chips and a stuffed mushroom and save the roast for tomorrow, there will be fizz later with dinnerand there is a lovely lemon cake which dd bought me, so a perfect day in store.
I have a wash on the go so will hang that out for a while and I think OH is going to cut the lawn.
Have lovely days all xxx14 -

Morning all, just popping in before we're off for the scan, I shall probably tag along for a bit of different scenery, then we shall have a respite until April 30th when we get the results.Looks like the sparrow hawk had breakfast on the patio this morning, there are creamy white feathers everywhere, possibly a collared dove was on his menuRedRuby hope you have a very Happy Birthday today. 🎉🎂 Good news about the donations too, fantastic charity.Wishing everyone a goodish day and hugs all round.Take care all, stay safe and wellnan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently14

Very cold and frosty here this morning, not due to rise above 6C, I hate the cold (anaemic), but really need and actually want to be tidying up outside, I have just remembered an old pair of warm lined trousers stashed away in the RoD, I will investigate shortly and may try a few spells (15mins) outside with coffee breaks and then a hot shower.
Ruby I hope that your have a very enjoyable day and are well spoilt by your family, you deserve it. x
Gers I love baking and often want to bake when there is still cake around, I do normal stuff for OH and GF for me, so a regular thing is now that I bake half quantity cakes, 1lb not 2lb tins and 1 8" sandwich cut into 2, sandwiched to make a half cake, plenty of variety, but it does not hang about too long either in the tin or on my hips!!
Have the best day you can all, hugs and spoons. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)12 -
Morning, hugs if you need one, and happy birthday Ruby, hope you have a good day.
Well, wonder of wonders we have blue sky and sun, but its still blooming cold out. DB is doing his 30 minutes in the garden, we have had ro buy net tunnels to keep the cats off the veg garden. They arrived at 8.15 this morning, were supposed to come on Tuesday!! I have nothing against cats in general, but I wish they could be toilet trained to 'go' in their own gardens and not mine. There is nothing worse when pulling something up to find it comes with a free sample, a dollop of cat ****.
I am roasting a shoulder of lamb for supper today. Veggies done, weighed the meat it will take about an hour and a half, need to decide what time we are going to eat.
Progress on the quilt is slow, I have matched the backing fabric, not sure how I am going to sew it together, might use a very tiny zigzag stitch or may be the running stitch I am going to use to quilt it. What ever I need to get it done tout suite.11 -
Good morning, I'm late to the party today.Happy Birthday Ruby, you must eat cake, don't hold back! Hope you enjoy your day.Nanny, thinking of you and Mr Fixit, hope you aren't hanging about too long at the hospital.Maddie, sorry to hear your Mum is not well. Not a lot happening today, it's blummin cold, dry though. I don't seem to have been out for days, I'm not desperate for anything though. Bread will have to be bought tomorrow, unless I drag myself out later.Last night we had a takeaway, which we don't have often, and I ate too much, so was up in the night with indigestion, my own fault I know. Anyway, I'm lounging about doing nothing, but I will pull myself together.Tru, Your staring at things makes me laugh because I'm a big starer, and so is my DD. Even her 8 year old daughter has commented on it.Anyway I'll stop waffling and wish everyone a good Sunday, thinking of Gers and her Mum, Nanny and her DH, and others.Take care folks14

Happy Birthday RRuby- hope you have a wonderful day being spoiled smiley:Its blooming chilly here. I'm going to do some more family history in a mo, but upstairs as I need to spread a lot of papers about. Had a quick trip to DS2's yesterday to drop a bag of DGS clothes he'd left, the children were playing in the back garden so that was nice.Today we were having a trip to the retail park, but when we saw the queue outside HBargains, we turned round, and came back via the scenic route over the moors, made a change. Apart from that, not much newsSending everyone good wishes xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)14
