Virgin hike bill by £3.50 despite saying price increase don't affect contracts taken out wef 1/7/20

Options

Contract originally taken out Nov 2020 then updated Jan 2021 with extra £3.50 discount.
The above prices are before any discounts.
Worth checking your March bill in case they have increased it.

From Martins Lewis article
The price increase affects all UK cable customers – those with broadband, TV and fixed-line phone contracts – who joined Virgin Media before June 29 2020 who aren't considered 'vulnerable'.

Comments

  • So this £3.50 increase impacted me - Yet when I called the number (linked directly from their Virgin Media ios app from my inclusive minutes) the automated system once directed to the option “if you are thinking of leaving us” - gave an option to automatically accept a £3 discount/refund every month so I am guessing this option has been made available to anyone who (perhaps?) should not have been affected yet has been. Certainly worth checking as would have reduced my £31.50 new fee down again to £28.50. Ie only a 50p monthly increase.
  • Should the Virgin price hike affect a 74 year old, New 18mth contract taken out 13th Jan 2021 ?
