Virgin Media Stole My Money

Im so angry i could scream,

I am already with virgin for my phone line and broadband, i decided because i had had a good service with them to sign up for the TV package as well, however when this came it was not suitable for my partner who is deaf and therefore needs subtitles on everything, anyway i contacted them the same day that the box was installed to cancel and request that the box be picked up which was on the following Saturday.

I then receive a phone bill for £118 pounds (i knew this was wrong as the highest my bill has ever been is £25) i immediately got on the phone and was told that i had been charged for the phone, broadband and the tv i was transfered to cancellations again had to explain what had happened the advisor i spoke to apologised and said she would refund everything bar about £18 for the bill.

Thinking this was all settled i went to withdraw money from my bank account only to be confronted with a statement showing they had taken the £118 leaving me with nothing to buy xmas presents with.

The conclusion is i have rang them yet again but instead of being helpful they have said "oh well you need to contact your bank and get a form" i have doen this but as its weekend they cannot do anything until Monday i have gone to the Virgin media website to complain and its telling me to write to them but this could take ages to be rectified.

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS I NEED THAT MONEY BACK?????

Speak to you bank and have them process an indemnity claim on the payment for yourself - this may not go through until Monday but at least you will have something in place.

Can you not speak to the bank about inc the o/d limit by £100 just for the weekend as they can clearly see why you are short?
  • If you paid by Direct Debit , reclaim it under the DD guarantee ?

If you paid by direct debit, phone your bank and tell them that Virgin took more money out than they'd agreed. You're protected for this under the direct debit guarantee. They'll then instantly put the whole amount back in your bank there and then. You can then settle the issue with Virgin after that. Let us know how you get on.
