Cashing an old phone question
I am cashing my old mobile. Does the phone need to be taken to a post office or put into a click n drop parcel box? Problem is the main PO is closed as in an non essential shop and the other small post offices have long queues and their short opening hours clash with my working hours. Have two CnD boxes within 1 mile from here.

If it's worth money then you need to ensure that you have proof of posting or that a carrier has collected (so you need a receipt) otherwise you'll have no comeback if it doesn't get to the destination.
A registered letter or even one that has to be signed for has some insurance whereas just shoving it into a post box has no proof that it was sent. Entirely up to you but I know what I'd do.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -

Could I book a collection to pick up from home once I got my RM label? https://www.royalmail.com/collection0

You don't say how much the phone is worth. If it's £50, might be worth a risk of just putting £3.20 stamps on it and putting it in the post box. If £400, then you want RM special delivery tracked for a tad over £8 which means a visit to the PO with a mask (this cannot be done via pick-up).0

I might be an old fool but what does ‘Cashing a phone’ mean.Is it selling the phone? Or part-exchange (trade-in)?2

1 English is not the op’s first language, or
2. The op is poorly edjumacated.1 -
I asked a young person. It means you sell something to get money to spend on something else you don’t really need. eg. You might sell your sisters old phone to buy new clothes.1
