Avios or Nectar

I've accrued around 330,000 Avios points.
Having checked (on BA's site) how and when I can use them, I'm wondering if they would be more valuable exchanged for Nectar points?

It really depends on what you want to use them for. If you regularly shop at Sainsbury's and never fly then the answer is obvious but if like me you never go to Sainsbury's, keeping them as Avios is generally more valuable. Avios normally give a value of 0.8p each, Nectar 0.5 but it's how you want to use them that really determines whether it is worth swapping them or not.

TPG has written about this https://thepointsguy.co.uk/guide/transferring-avios-to-nectar/

If you fancy some long haul travel next year, upgrading with avios from economy is a great way of spending Avios, BA will have more new planes by then and they have better air quality.

Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.
  • Headforpoints (16/3 ) and onemileatatime (17/3) say that BA have increased the number of Avios points required for short haul flights (zones 1-3) by 750 each way, which makes the info on MSE and Thepointsguy out of date.
