British Airways charging for FREE date changes

WARNING. If you need to make changes to your British Airways flight dates in Manage My Booking, which British Airways policy state is FREE, and a refund is showing after you make the date changes, it will not allow you to complete the process and you are directed to contact British Airways customer service who will then charge you a booking fee for making the date changes!
So you need to make sure that it is not showing a refund to be able to proceed using Manage My Booking.

BA give you a refund when you change dates, then charge you when you confirm dates?

No, I was not looking for a refund, only to change flight dates. British Airways policy states that it is free to change flight dates through Manage My Booking, but if a refund is showing after changing your dates you are unable to complete the booking, you are directed to contact British Airways customer service and they then charge a booking fee for the flight date changes.
