Hi, I'm with Vodafone and my 2-year agreement ends on 31 March. It's been a while since I've switched mobile providers.. I plan to go SIM-only with giffgaff and keep my phone number. I know I need to call Vodafone to ask for the PAC, but how much notice do I need to give them, is it 30 days? Or I don't have to give them notice at all, because agreement ends 31 March? And when is it best to ask gifffgaff to switch, how many days before the 31st of March? Thanks and apologies for the newbie question.

Don't need to call them. To get your PAC code, text PAC to 65075. To check if you are still in contract and if you need to pay anything to end your contract early, text INFO to 85075.Re: switch - fees would apply up until the end day. As to switch over, it tends to happen the following weekday at 11am.1

Thanks, that's good to hear, so basically I can call Gifgaff to give them the PAC on the 31st (last day of my Vodafone contract), then next day the switch would be complete? That's fast.0

You won't be able to call them as it's online support only but once you activate a sim card you can fill in the port in link with your PAC. You can also book a port in advance, ports are only Monday to Fridayultrasilvam said:Thanks, that's good to hear, so basically I can call Gifgaff to give them the PAC on the 31st (last day of my Vodafone contract), then next day the switch would be complete? Giffgaff aren't very competitive these days plus have low priority on the O2 network.
O2 and Tesco Mobile are actually better for O2 coverage.
Voxi, Talkmobile and Lebara for Vodafone coverage.0 -
What do you mean by ‘low priority’?Deleted User said:Giffgaff aren't very competitive these days plus have low priority on the O2 network.

The PAC code they send you is valid for 30 days.
