Hi All,
I need a new battery for my 2013 1.6dci Qashqai. I have owned this since new and with full service history. The dealer is quoting me £241 however its listed on the Nissan fixed price repair page as £190 but both the dealer and Nissan CS are refusing to honour the price saying its an older car and need a specialist battery.
https://www.nissan.co.uk/ownership/nissan-services/service-care-repair.html
I have raised a complaint but is this normal? It am struggling to find other places to fit it and would rather use the main dealer. I have raised a customer complaint so will see what happens, just wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation.
Thanks

Quickfit, National, Halfords etc can surely fit you a battery? If you have a 10/12/13mm spanner you can buy a battery from Eurocarparts and fit it yourself?

Possibly not as simple as that these days. Most modern cars now have start/stop systems and which case the battery will either be an EFB or AGM type which will also require registering, if not coding as well if you were put in a different size.tonyh66 said:Quickfit, National, Halfords etc can surely fit you a battery? you learn something everyday, I won't be getting rid of my 2011 wheels anytime soon then.

Generally most cars learn and adapter to the battery as the capacity changes. The dealer will be very expensive, you could try any local indy garage or fast fit place.0

The price of car batteries has gone up significantly in recent months and there's a shortage, not sure whether it's Brexit or Covid, so it doesn't surprise me if they're no longer honouring their fixed price terms.0

Yes that's my problem. The car is stop start but uses an EFB type so struggling to find like for like. When I look on Halfords for the model - nothing comes back. Quickfit incorrectly displays an AGM battery as suitable. When I look on ATS tyres its bringing back batteries for my car where the CA value is much lower and doesn't say what type it is. There is one on National tyres that is similar to what I need and I have ordered it twice only for it to be cancelled and been told not in stock and not sure when stock will arrive. So now a bit stuck?neilmcl said:
