Hi all, wasn't sure what thread to post this on
I'm looking at my 1st Samsung washing machine
I'm looking at my 1st Samsung washing machine
Does anyone know if this model is any good and will it fit under most normal work tops, my old machine is a 15 year old zanussi aqua cycle. I also like the auto dose function but can you use tabs and softer instead?
Also
What's the difference between 5500 and the 6800 series does anyone know? Got about £500 to play with including delivery and recycling my old one I do get 20% discount on the samsung store price through my work portal
Thanks Richard

Washing machines come in standard height (85cm) and width (60cm) measurements, it's just depth that can change depending on size of the drum. The answer to your question re: will it fit, well that depends on your worktop height. Get a tape measure out and, um, measure itAll very well the washing machine generally putting on a song and dance every time you turn it on, but at the end of the day whether you'll use half the bells and whistles is a matter for you - the main aim will be to get clothes in, get them washed, take them out again. There are cheaper washing machines available that just, well, wash basically.2

My washer (Hotpoint) is 84.5 x 59.5 so they aren't all exactly the same dimensions. You have to measure the space you have and then look around to see what's available in your price range.
However, I wouldn't spend a lot on a fancy washer unless I had a big family. (I can easily pop my own doses in the machine, you don't need auto dosing really.) As long as it has a quick wash facility and a fast spin that doesn't crease clothes.
If I wanted to upgrade, I'd probably go for a Bosch (as opposed to Bush) rather than a Samsung - although you seem to be tied to Samsung via your work. I have found that the more a piece of electrical equipment claims to do, the more expensive it is and the more things go wrong. Simple is better, in my experience, and is also obviously cheaper. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. depth (59cm) height (87cm) 69cm width not looking at a big drum our family is only 3 so lookng for maybe a 7-9kg drum0 -
Last I read the Which? reports very few washing machines did a really good rinse -something we are particular about - unless you spend a lot!I am a fan of Bosch machines for various reasons but they also do not have the best rinsing performance.Worth joining Which? just to get the unbiased info!!1

Which reports are quite often out of date though, I find. The couple of times I’ve done a £1 trial membership to check products out, the products are harder to get hold of from mainstream outlets or superseded by newer models. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
We have a Bosch washing machine and dishwasher. Both very reliable and we get very good results. If you are fussy about rinsing, there is an aqua-plus setting that works well. If you are really fussy, choose an additional rinse and spin after the main programme has finished. The only problem we've had in the 8 years we've had our Bosch washing machine is that we needed a heater replacement - but then we are in a very hard water area. No hesitation in recommending Bosch.

Many over dose detergents needing the extra rinse.
For washer the drying efficiency % is an important factor if you use a dryer.
The more water the washer spins out the Les the dryer has to work.
NOTE: that is efficiency not spin speed.

look at ebac machines
