What to do if the surveyor failed to pick up issues?

Hi all

I am back again. Our renovation process is very slow and we finally decided the final design. However, I found a big problem in the kitchen today. What should I do next? 

We had level 3 building survey, Damp survey and structural survey. Unfortunately, we still got this issue

To make the post more clear.

I had level 3 building survey, the surveyor suggested to get a PCA damp survey. I agree there is nothing to blame him. Structural engineer looked for something else, there is nothing to blame him on the damp issue either. 

I had the PCA damp survey. The surveyor told me all meter readings in a reasonable range. He also lifted some floor boards and put a CCTV camera underneath the floor boards. At the end, I decided to purchase the house because of his survey results. 


I think I am lucky because I have the plan to renovate the house and I have the chance to identify and resolve this big problem. 

If someone else bought the house and they don’t carry out any works. They probably need to live with this damp for years

    What issues did your surveyor not pick up? You haven't said.
    Were they visible before you started your renovation?

    The issue is shown in the pictures. They were not visible.

    You have to remember they are surveying someone else's property, they can start drilling holes, ripping up tiles.
    Deal with it move on.

    So how does the surveyor pick up damp issues? Visually? 

    The PCA damp surveyor told me all meter readings are in the reasonable range and he also had cctv images. I decided to buy the house because he told me everything is fine.

    I'd far more worried about the capabilities of your contractor.
    Why was this only discovered after they began to fit a new kitchen?
