Look at Giffgaff refurbished phones, we and friends have bought and been very happy.
They have the SE for £69.  I have one and it does everything I want and is quite robust, been dropped a few times and screen still intact.

Thanks I saw Giffgaff but didn't look,I will check it out tonight, I just need something that I can listen to my podcasts on,text and phone my elderly parents and take the odd photo 😊

So, why does it have to be an expensive iphone?

Absolutely any budget Android phone will cover your very modest requirements: you could spend as little as £60 new, though maybe £120 will get your more in case you envisage more usage in the next few years.
Any kind of iPhone is overkill.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

If wedded  to apple you are stuck with paying for the badge even second hand.

in my searches there are some seriously cheap deals in the £100-£150 range.

there are other brands in similar price range but  I have gone down the Xiaomi route they have phone on offer every day with daily deals and spring offers,  you get a lot of phone for you money

For a list of recent offers and guides on getting the £15 self refer discount.

compare the specs to you chosen second hand  iphone and see if something matches up

I splashed out £164 on the Poco X3 and 6GB 128GB, dual sim, decent camera, massive battery(lasting 3 days with my use)
you can go 5g with some of the others if that is in your future.

I am not a fan of apple as I used to work with them  so never had a iphone for own use

This is the latest post on one of the HUKD threads.

Actually can't believe how much an upgrade the X3 is over my iPhone 8... The super charging or whatever they call it is insane also

There are a lot of phones in the market. If you have budget problems have a look at Android phones. I am also using the android phone Vivo due to lack of money. Now I am looking to change phone with one plus 5.
  • It seems to me that the Apple technique is really worth the money because I have been using the same first-generation SE for years.

One could say the same about any outdated phone OS .
  • You should buy iPhone SE 2020. it has 64 GB of memory that much enough for using Facebook and many other social media applications. it also has a 4.7-inch display which will be fit in your hand easily.

Hi sorry I didn't see this, thanks for the info. I'm not wedded to Apple phones as such it's just that I don't know enough about different phones to be able to compare and don't want to make a mistake 😊
