I am moving into rented accommodation and have no idea how long I will be there but am planning on buying a home from there - I will need internet just wondering how to go about it as all the deals seem to be 12 months minimum - I haven't asked my current provider talktalk if I can just move with them - is that a thing or is it a whole new contract etc

The obvious answer is 4g Broadband assuming that there is a a decent mobile signal - plenty of deals available https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6244607/mobile-4g-5g-broadband-solution-for-use-at-home#latest and have a trawl through the internetNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1

If TT supply the new address you can probably move the contract though it may start a new term .If you are not out of contract with TT then you will need to pay the remaining months .

Termination fee usually remaining months less vat .Just looking for a house then a decent mobile network signal should be enough .0

If you are WFH then mobile broadband might be a bit flaky
Now offer no contract broadband for an extra fee plus some providers offer student/renters packages with more flexible terms.0 -
We use Smarty at our caravan and it has been fine with 2 adults on laptops and two children with children's tablets (Not downloading films etc). It is on a monthly contract and includes unlimited calls and internet for about £25 and has been as low as £18 on special offer .
I have used it to download and watch Amazon Prime films, with no buffering.1
