New TV broken on delivery

If they don't replace or refund go to Richer Sounds, local shops and Tv's come with 6 year guarantees.0

Or simply check on the condition of expensive and potentially fragile goods delivered when they are delivered.Winfield said:
I see exactly where you're coming from. It is unfortunate that things get damaged in transit 😕
Unfortunately this isn't what your main worry should be at this time. It's trying to convince the retailer that 5 days after having received a brand, spanking new TV you suddenly discovered an obvious dent to the box and subsequent damage to the TV. You may understand their scepticism if they come back and suggest it's been damaged whilst in your possession.
Lessons learned regardless of the outcome here - the wife and I will only purchase large items like this from local retailers in future (for either local delivery or pick up).9 -
No, the lesson is to open the box immediately upon receipt and check it. This kind of damage is very rare, but it is easily dealt with if you don't delay.Winfield said:

All boxes and cartons need to be opened and checked before signing. Regrettably you now have a battle on your hands. Please keep us all posted on the outcome.
The box could have contained half a dozen house bricks. Who would believe you?
There was a spate of brick parcels some years ago. Courier firms soon cracked the case.
Still can happen.
Many years ago I accepted a carton/parcel that had been in a flood, (caused by heavy rain at the depot), the courier had hidden the carton from view as I signed. It took 3 months to resolve.
If you're expecting a delivery you need to be prepared to carry out a full inspection before signing.
Good luck.0 -

No courier is going to stand on the doorstep whilst you open a box and check the contents.5 -
What even if you damage it and blame the courier ! ( i am not saying that the tv in this post was damaged by the owner ) just pointing out that no company will pay out for damage unless proved done by some one else.Spank said:If they don't replace or refund go to Richer Sounds, local shops and Tv's come with 6 year guarantees.0
