Issue fixing dripping mixer tap

Well providing you can get the white plastic bit off then all you'll likely need is a an adjustable wrench. I find a small one like this is definitely a handy item for the tool box.stevoh said:I’m going to have a stab at replacing the cartridge, then if that doesn’t work I’ll try to change the tap. This is as much an exercise in gaining confidence in fixing things myself, rather than just saving money.
Stupid question, but what would be the best tool to buy to take the cartridge out? An adjustable wrench?1 -
Hi All, reporting back on this one. I bought the replacement catridge and an adjustable wench. The old hot one came out easily and screwed in the new one. Works a treat, and £200 quid saved. Pretty happy with that! Thank you all!!2

Argh it may have. There's a very ocassional (every 40 secs or so) drip now.Jeepers_Creepers said:stevoh said:Hi All, reporting back on this one. Always good practice as advised to replace both, at time.victor2 said:

But you now know what is required.
Come back if still problem getting plastic off?The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon1 -
I’ve managed to order a replacement grip, which includes the plastic component, along with the cold cartridge. I try and pull off the plastic part, but if I damage it at least I know I can replace it. The whole lot will end up having cost me £100, but still £100 saving.1
