Thank you so much for the information; this is the first I have heard about it.Linton said:
You should have received communications some time ago. Allianz Technology Trust has revalued its shares so you now have 10 times as many at 1/10th the cost.melbury said:I can't understand what has happened to Allianz Technology Trust plc. I went to check the share price this morning and it has gone down from £29+ per share to about £2.90 per share.
Please does anyone know what is going on with this?
I haven't received any communications from the company, so can't understand what has happened.

I wonder why they decided to do this and if it will be detrimental going forward.
I do hope they issue me with a new share certificate.Stopped smoking 27/12/2007, but could start again at any time :eek:0 -
If you hold the shares directly in your own name. Then do they have your correct address? As you should be receiving shareholder communications.melbury said:

No I am definitely not an experienced investor. Do you think they are risky now that they have done this split?MX5huggy said:They have done a share split so every share has been turned in to 10. Hence the price is 1/10th of the previous price. If you’ve made money I would sell and diversify into something less risky than a single stock.https://www.investegate.co.uk/allianz-tech-trust/rns/share-split-announcement/202104291800019547W/I’m guessing you’re not an experienced investor.

Thanks, that link was very useful and has helped reassure me. I can't understand why they didn't notify me that this was going to happen. It was quite a shock to see such a dramatic fall in the share price.eskbanker said:

I’ve done a bit more reading, it’s not a company in the traditional sense it’s a company that just exists to invest in other companies in this case the global tech sector which has done very well recently. It’s top ten holdings are all the familiar big names. https://www.investegate.co.uk/allianz-tech-trust--att-/rns/top-10-holdings/202104121200291533V/melbury said:

You need to consider tax if they have increased in value by more than £12500 you will have to pay Capital Gains Tax if you sell. If you wish to keep them put them in an ISA to shelter them from the tax man.0 -
I only have them because decades ago I decided to invest £50 per month into Finsbury Technology Trust plc, which over the years became RCM Technology and now Allianz Technology Trust plc. I only stopped investing because Finsbury upped the minimum amount to £100 per month, which I thought was too much. Would it be difficult to get the shares into an ISA?MX5huggy said:

You can't literally 'put' them into an ISA but you can sell them for cash, and then use that cash within a S&S ISA to buy back around the same value of shares, and then any returns from that holding going forward would not be taxable. https://www.x-o.co.uk offer cheap online broking and ISA services (competitive dealing charges and no ongoing account maintenance fee).melbury said:
