Skygo

I have a full sky account - so I have skygo.
What devices would my daughter need to access my skygo account on her (smart) TVs?

You can't connect or rather sign in on a smart TV. It has to be a device like a phone, tablet, laptop or games console Xbox etc.
Although I've not been successful myself I believe you can cast a picture to a smart TV from a device, not sure if from the Sky Go app it's possible?

Sky Go does not support Chromecast.  You can use it on a mobile or similar device but if you were to attempt to show it on an external screen or cast it the output is blocked.  This is by design.

Thanks - so to be clear you are saying it impossible to watch skygo on a tv?

Not impossible - you could use a laptop and connect the HDMI output to the TV and presumably the do the same if your portable device has an HDMI output

Don't know if that will work - SkyGo disallows HDMI outputs. I got SkyGo on a large screen by using analog VGA output to an "old" 32" LG telly, effectively as a monitor, but few (if any) modern sets have VGA input. Don't know if some sort of VGA-HDMI adapter would allow it ?

I don't see why it would disallow HDMI output.  That would prevent anyone with an HDMI, DVI or DisplayPort monitor from using SkyGo, which would be ridiculous.

Over 2019 I happily connected my laptop via a DP to HDMI cable in the hotel rooms I visited with no issues whatsoever and just tried now for the first time since then on Thunderbolt to HDMI and it works without issue.

Fair enuf . Must have changed - I know that I couldn't get SkyGo up on the TV using HDMI from a card fitted in my old PC whereas VGA out from the laptop worked.
