Warranty issue with bike

What do the terms of the warranty actually state?
If they say that getting the bike repaired elsewhere is okay and you will receive vouchers for this then that's perfectly acceptable.
Changing a front gear shifter is a quick and easy job for many people to do and to be honest, I would be surprised if your local bike shop charged more than a few £s to do this and if you speak to them, they may well do it while you wait.
Yes, getting the original retailer to do it would be the ideal thing but as they are currently closed, what else do you expect them to do?0
