Making a large payment from Santander account

It is best to go in branch and take evidence of the house purchase and solicitors. You can send up to £100000 by FP in branch in one go, but there is a hard 24 hour limit on this - if you needed to send £100001 the final £1 would not be possible until 24 hours after the first transaction has been submitted (unless you pay for CHAPS).
The branch staff have a questionnaire that they will fill in, which is in the form of an excel spreadsheet and includes a random number generator, and based on the answers it will tell them either to send the money or not to send it.
If the answer is no they then need to get further authorisation from some head office department before they can do it, which will require bringing in as much documentation about the house purchase.
(The following is a joke.) When I tried to do this a few years ago, Santander head office claimed my solicitor's letterhead and website were fakes created by me to scam myself, and refused to make the transfer. I hired a voice actor to pretend to be my solicitor and the head office called him using the number on my allegedly fake website, which somehow was accepted.
The branch staff member was actually very helpful and lent me his iphone while he went to the toilet as my phone had no battery.
As a result (and also because of their stupid phone authorisation system for online transfers, where they suspend your accounts and the next morning a robot calls you and asks you multiple choice questions - which makes you feel like a phishing victim, but the easiest way out is just to answer the robot's questions because the call centre doesn't know anything about this and will place further blocks on your account) I no longer trust Santander and now only use them to receive the odd payout from cashback websites now.0 -
Unless obsoletely necessary, schedule it to be sent the working day before it's required as then you are partially protected by SEPA regulations. Bring in your ID, proof of the transaction and you also check if your solicitor is on their panel too( https
