Making a large payment from Santander account

Hi all,
I'm in the process of buying a house, with the aim to complete next Friday. My Solicitor has now instructed that payment is to be made. My solicitor fees and deposit come to quite a substantial amount (£30k). I tried to make the payment online, but it has prevented me to do so. It has instructed me to phone their helpline or pop into branch. With it being Friday evening, the bank won't be open until Monday, and I'm just worried that I'm going to leave it too late or there's going to be a hiccup somewhere. Obviously my solicitors is now closed until Monday so that shouldn't be a problem, but I just need a bit of reassurance that the money will get to the solicitors before I complete.
Has anyone else recently made a large payment from Santander? I've looked through old posts but they're all from over 6 years ago.
Thanks for reading.
House Deposit: £28,000 and still saving!

I think they have a limit of £20K for a single transaction.
I've done it before by splitting it into two or more payments, didn't have any problems.

Your best bet would be to do ask they suggested. I would phone Santander and ask them to make the payment for me. It seems their phonelines are open over the weekend. They will of course take you through all kinds of security and the whole process might take a couple of hours but if you are able to prove your ID to them and if there are no doubts over the source of the money, there should be no problem.

I was told £25,000 was the limit but if they are not used to you moving that amount about it may be safer to phone.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.1

some of their branches are open Saturday morning -- my local one is, 9.30 - 12.30worth checking, phone them first thing and then go to a branch if you have to.The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0

Santander helpline is open seven days a week. Last time I needed to do it, I was told you can transfer over £30k in one transaction.
If you don't phone the helpline tomorrow as they have instructed, and answer their security questions, they may assume it was attempted fraud.0 -
Santander will do this day in, day out so I wouldn’t worry about it. I had to move a larger amount to a solicitors for a house purchase at the end of the year through First Direct and it took me minutes to arrange. Clearly a different bank to you but there’s no reason why it should be any more complicated.0

My experience, inform the solicitor once you have transferred the money.0

Send £1 to start with. Ensure it has arrived then send balance. Pretty sure Santander has a £20,000 daily withdrawal limit though? The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon1

Thanks. Do all finances on line so never thought about phoning, etc. 25k on line, must be thinking of another account. The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0
