no no, right i think its again another time where my words are not being explaine dright.

the item i bought which according to my mum was the only fools dvd collection which was 99£ we later found out it was the ronny barker dvd collection at £40, the lady said yes we can exchange but even with the receipt you wont be getting a cash refund of the price difference.

Is it just me, or is that the most confusing post?!!
    Gone ... or have I?
  • We bought over £100 worth of goods from Zavvi Piccadilly Circus store and wanted to return 4 x £15 DVD's as they were meant as gifts but they were duplicates. Zavvi informed us that, even though our items were unopened, their returns policy is only to refund ONE item on the receipt and not multiple items.

Their refund policy?? Why weren't we informed about this unusual refund policy before they happily took our hard earned cash at the till point? Zavvi Piccadilly Circus Store Manager kindly pointed out that it is stated on the reverse of the receipt, which reads "terms and conditions available online". :T How exactly are we meant to judge whether we want to make purchases from Zavvi based on this irregular and anti-customer policy if we are only given the receipt (and hence notice of terms and conditions) after the purchase is made? The answer is, they're not bothered as long as they have your money and the lesson we take from this is - DON'T BUY FROM ZAVVI or at the very least buy every item on a separate bill.

We are certainly going to boycott Zavvi as they have no respect for their customers and consumers aware of this policy as Zavvi are obviously intent on alienating customers.

Legally, no shop has to refund your money if you change your mind about the purchase. That this shop will refund one item goes further than they need to by law.

If an item is faulty, this is different. We are covered by law (Sale of Goods Act). This isn't the case here.

I can't think of one single shop I've been into that makes their terms and conditions clear before you purchase (it's normally on the receipt, or points you to the terms online as in this case). Some (very very few) will have a notice about returns policy). Why should this shop be any different to all the others?

When I worked at HMV they used to offer refunds even if customers changed their minds on items. That changed whilst I was still there as too many were buying cd's or dvd's, burning them to a PC then returning them for a refund. I'd assume that they were losing a lot of revenue from it. Not justifying anything, just trying to show why some companies have changed thier policies.
Out of my mind. Back in 5 minutes.
