Not advice. Without the full picture, one never knows what has caused your account to be red flagged at Barclays.Harleybond16 said:

Long story short my salary is paid into another bank account which I then transfer to my Barclays account every month. This has been happening every month for the last 3 years.0 -
Then you should be well aware of the banks procedures re suspicious transactions.

Contact the companies concerned and arrange to make a payment over the phone from your open account.

So if you work for a bank (on the banking side & not one of the other many roles within a bank) then you will know exactly what to do....Harleybond16 said:

Why not ? I have several accounts and move money around to meet the bonus benefits - eg HSBC monthly savings. Main bank is Santander - move into HSBC - then back to Santander.Thrugelmir said:

Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
There are many people, especially among MSE forum members, who shuffle money around multiple bank accounts in order to satisfy various monthly funding requirements, etc, but I'd hazard a guess that substantially fewer of these would be in OP's specific situation of moving their entire salary from bank A to bank B as soon as it's paid, with no slack or spare funding elsewhere to protect against the scenario of an account freeze compromising payment of critical bills, etc.Robin9 said:

Update: Have now been advised that even if I went into branch with ID I would still have to wait as they can only release funds there and then if its directly from employer or benefits. The bank I work for is a foreign bank with over 200 branches in the UK. We are currently in the process or trailing 24 hour payments but it is not yet in stone. I do appreciate the whole transaction monitoring of course I do, I deal with it every day but moving my salary from an account in my name to my barclays account as I have every month for the past 3 years which has never been a problem suddenly being told that I have no option but to wait for 10
working days. Thankfully I was able to transfer out of my Help2buy ISA to cover payments this morning but if someone who did not have surplus funds like that was in my position then they would be screwed.1
