Messaging - Help with Moving into the 21st Century!

Options
Hello
Grateful for some help/advice please.
I am helping my friend in his office and I am taking lots of telephone messages.   I am far more comfortable with typing up messages than writing with pen.  Handwriting is very time consuming.

Is there a message system that can be used between PCs?   For example, I use Whatsapp on my PC to message friends and family - much quicker with a keyboard.  Is there something similar to this that I can use with my friend?

If your friend sets up Whatsapp on his PC and phone the messages will sync.  So you can still send him his messages and they'll appear on his phone/PC.

I failed to explain my friend lives in the past.  His mobile phone is a Nokia 2210 - it's ancient!!  I don't think he can have whatsapp on this.

    Update : Nokia C2

Then they either just need to use their PC/tablet or whatever other device they have, or upgrade their phone.

Yes - you cannot move into the 21st century using 20th century kit!
  • If you have unlimited texts and your phone is android you can type the text into My Phone on Windows 10 and send it

  • Can you transcribe the messages into an email?
Or do you want something more real time?
A dream is not reality, but who's to say which is which?

    Thanks.  No definitely realtime.
I've found a solution - he has another phone which invariably is left in the office all the time.  I've offered to give him an old android of mine and will pop his sim into it.  He will then start using Whatssap on his PC.

    Thank you everyone.
  • You could use voice notes on the phone then as others have said send via whatsapp/messenger.

Whatsapp can only be used on a PC if it can see the phone with the Whatsapp account on the same network.  It all runs through the phone.  If the phone can't be seen it won't work.  Can your friend set things up for this to work?  Why not just use an actual computer to computer messaging service like I mentioned where all you need is internet access?
