Yes they can have a secondary address in the UK, I have many buyers registered in a different country but now residing in the UK or using a UK address.Flyonthewall said:

The possibility that they are using a 3rd party freight forwarding service still exists then as the delivery address will show as the UK.Flyonthewall said:
Possibly, but their feedback suggests not. Doesn't explain how they were able to offer either as the address stated was outside of the UK.theonlywayisup said:Could the buyer have registered in another country (like me) but bid on the .co.uk version?
Could the buyer be in another country but wanting to buy for a friend/relative in the UK?
Well either way, glad I could decline and block because they're clearly not in the UK. Annoying that people can get around restrictions like that. I imagine many wouldn't check or notice the locations, only the price offered.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Ah. If that were the case it would be fine, but that's obviously not the case here. Least I know now why they were likely able to offer.soolin said:

The problem is you can't tell from just the feedback page , you don't see their address at all, only the original country in which they were registered. When my buyers who used forward companies bid I only realised where they were registered when I checked after seeing the 'Heathrow unit' or whatever address, it was only at that point I saw their account was registered in Russia- or elsewhere.Flyonthewall said:

True. If they had done Buy It Now I wouldn't have known until seeing the address (assuming they do have a UK one for a third party shipper). You see it in an offer though. This buyer was registered in another country and their address was a different country to that and neither were the UK. Along with their feedback, it seems unlikely they live in the UK. They need to change their main address to a UK one if they do.soolin said:

Their address may be different but the postal address wouldn't be overridden by your exclusions. The fact you see their 'feedback' and 'address' means nothing. I am not registered in the UK, my purchases register as non UK, but that doesn't mean my delivery address isn't in the UK. In fact, you posed me a query. I have read my feedback on my buying account and you would not post to where 'it seems' I am.Flyonthewall said:

It would be interesting to see stats on how many have registered somewhere different to where their delivery address now is and how many have an address for a third party shipper in another country.theonlywayisup said:

It says post to and gives a non UK address. I'm sure the post to address has always matched where I have posted to for accepted offers previously. It is possible they would give a UK address for delivery upon payment, but as their default/main address is not in the UK, feedback suggests items being sent out of the UK and they didn't register in the UK it is far more likely the item would be sent, whether directly or through a third party, out of the UK.
Assuming they have a UK address, that is two out of three places that are not in the UK.
It may be that they are not where they seem, but I have to go on what I can see because that's all I have to go on. Either way, I don't know for sure if they have a UK address or that they wouldn't have it shipped on so it is best to decline the offer and not deal with them. As a private seller, it's not worth the potential headache and stress if there are issues. If I were a business seller it would be different.
