How do you bookmark a thread without getting an email every time someone replies?

On other forums I use, when you bookmark/subscribe to a thread you usually get the choice of instant email notification, daily, or none... but on here I just seem to be stuck with instant email notification and can't work out how to change it. Can someone help? Thanks! :-)

You need to switch off notifications and just use the bookmark option, either click on the bookmark button at the top of the page on the open thread or the symbol at the left side of the list of threads on the forum index.

Edit: figured out that it's the weird little vertical lines icon within my notifications! Thank you!
