We have a savings account for the pennies when we round our bank balance to the nearest pound. It is surprising how quickly it adds up.4

I’m hoping it’ll add up and make a difference to the statement/interest each month and it’ll definitely keep me focused.RelievedSheff said:We have a savings account for the pennies when we round our bank balance to the nearest pound. It is surprising how quickly it adds up.

I think I'm going to start saving the pennies. Off to set up an account for that now!1

Been a mad few couple of days so not had chance to update the diary. There's no movement on the house but not really expecting any yet...
I received my holiday refund so the bank balance is looking more healthy, not for long though as I plan to pay it off one of the cards over the next few days. Things are really busy at work at the moment as well as home so checking the debts/finances will take a back-seat for a spell. I may get chance to look later today or whilst I am having my lunch.

If you are an existing NatWest customer they are currently offering 3% (3.04%AER) on their instant access saver when deposit up to £1,000. £50 per month max deposit which works well for my ‘round down to the pound’ savings method.Deleted_User said:I think I'm going to start saving the pennies. You have reminded me I need to think about chasing up our holiday refund. Not got that through yet.LittleMissDetermined said:Been a mad few couple of days so not had chance to update the diary. There's no movement on the house but not really expecting any yet...

It has come through much faster than they quoted (28 days). was due back on 26th so that's a real bonus.RelievedSheff said:

Managed to get a breather for a cuppa and biscuit due to a cancelled work call this afternoon so I've transferred the £1000 holiday refund to cc1 - taking the balance down to £2400. The statement doesn't get generated for another 4 days so hopefully this will make an impact on the interest that gets added.
10 days to y next pay day and I can throw some more money at them

Thank you, I feel like I've made so much progress. Normally the refund would've been blow on shoes and handbagsDeleted_User said:Yay - well done you!Life gets in the way...PADding is addictive...Saving's better than spending...My savings diary - Now for a healthier, wealthier me2025 1p challenge #41 | Cash envelope challenge #01 | SPC #017EF £1000/£1000 | Sabbatical £3677/£60002
