Dogs definitely know when their owners are ill.

Ours will not leave our side if we are poorly. Even if its just a cold!

He is a proper nanny dog 😀

Plans to go out today were cancelled so it’s an unexpected NSD. I’ve therefore sent £15 to CC7

  • Before we knew Mr SA had a brain tumour the dog kept sniffing his head. I remember him saying why is she constantly sniffing my head. They are very perceptive. I also have a friend whose dog kept sniffing her chest. Turned out she had early stage breast cancer, thankfully in remission now.
Wow that really is remarkable. I hope Mr SA is ok and made a recovery?

Now you mention that a friend of ours has a benign brain tumour that doesn't cause him many issues other than night time epilepsy and our dog always sniffs his head.

Not thought of that before 😲

Yes he’s been in remission for 9 years but has been left with extensive brain damage.

  • Good morning and happy Monday. I have my meters being exchanged this morning so I am currently without power. I’m making use of the downtime by catching up on diaries and posting my update.

I have made my PAD this morning of £87.86 to various places, including £1 to CC7 and £18 standing order to the sealed pot. I have a lot in there, but I need to remember that it includes Christmas and birthday money, so it’s not just my spare change. It’s been a good challenge and I defo want to take part again next year.

Today will be a NSD, I have already done my budget and spreadsheet this morning and it says I have £25 a day available to spend. A lot of this will be used next weekend as I’m out on Saturday evening and it’s set to be very spendy. But I’m confident I’ll have some left over by pay day to add to the sabbatical fund. I think the key to that saving pot is little and often, so I don’t notice that it’s gone.

Today is set to be a busy day once I have my WiFi back. Lots to do at work and then housework tonight, it’s living-room day plus one of the bathrooms. I also have quite the pile of ironing to tackle :(

Think that’s all in terms of updates this morning I have, still nothing to cash out on Prolific but I have £5+ pending.

    Have a great Monday guys

I’ve been doing a virtual sealed pot for a few years now. I just shave off oddments and slide them into a separate savings account- it soon builds up. I use it to pay for Christmas as I aim for around £600. Small amounts really do add up.

Apologies for diverting your diary onto the topic of illness LMD.

    @Sun_Addict
I’m sure you must have been through some really difficult times. Hopefully Mr SA is at least stable now

I am certain the dog I am walking knows her owner is very near the end and it’s rather heartbreaking to see. He is everything to her and she is everything to him. By his side almost permanently except for walk time.

I’ve also used Sealed Pot Challenge as a great way of saving little and often. A paid for break as a result is a break that can be enjoyed, as it’s not adding to any existing debt.

Now I’m on the PAD thread following your recommendation LMD, I’m also able to reduce my outstanding debt on a daily basis, even if it’s often only a pound a day.
