Can I have a CASH ISA for £20k in my name and my wife have a £20k CASH ISA in her name?

Yes, the "I" stands for Individual, so every adult resident (for tax purposes) in the UK can have one, each with the same annual contribution allowance....1

Also remember it is £20k per year per person. So you can each open one now and one after April and get £80k tucked away tax free in the next 2 months.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.1 -
