Brand new washer leaking first wash

hello, I put my brand new Bosch washer on last night and it is leaking from the front door. A very slight leak, but a noticeable puddle after a wash.
Please can someone advise me on my rights?
I bought it from AO.com and they are calling me back when the wash stops to get the serial number to report it to Bosch.
I don’t want this washer, I want one that works and definitely do not want it repaired.
Am I entitled to reject it and ask for a new one?  I believe I am, but feel I am being fobbed off with their call to Bosch.
Thanks in advance.

I believe they have the right to attempt a repair first if the purchase occurred more than 30 days ago.

Can we have some timescales as to when it was purchased etc?

Within 30 days, legally you are entitled to exercise what is known as your short-term right to reject, which means you can reject the machine outright for a full refund. Outside of this the retailer can effectively choose to repair or replace.

Regardless, the seller has a right, usually by getting the manufacturer involved, to ascertain that you do actually have a fault and the nature of said fault.

I bought it on Sunday. It arrived yesterday. Leaked on first wash.

Then, as mentioned reject it if needs be, you don't have to accept a repair.

    Nice save 😁
  • Just make sure that you have a good look at the seal on the washer to make sure that it hasn't been damaged by something that you put in the machine (a zip getting stuck for example).
If it does appear to be damaged and you want a refund then AO do have the right to ask you to prove that the damage wasn't caused by something that you did. It's unlikely that they will ask but they do still have that right.

Just ask them to deliver another one and collect the faulty one. Dont get involved with Bosh.
