Ex display furniture broke - what are my rights?

I bought an ex display dining table and chairs earlier this year. Ive only had them about 6 weeks. This week 3 of the chairs have started splitting and last night my sister fell off one of the chairs cos it completely broke (see photos)
Ive been in contact with the seller who sells ex display furniture in a warehouse locally, he is refusing to refund/repair or replace the chairs saying they are ex display and don't come with a warranty. I'm so upset as I paid over £100 for the set he is trying to claim its my fault.

What are my rights?

I think it would depend on how the purchase was made... Did you buy it directly from them? Ebay.. Website.. etc.0

"Ex display" doesn't affect your rights, other than any defects actually pointed out before you bought.0

How did you pay?
It looks doubtful that damage was caused by normal use.0 -
Looking at the 1st photo, it looks like the bolt has been overtightened so far that it has ripped the wood in two. I would say that this has been wrongly assembled (by king Kong looking at the damage)3
