She said payment was cancelled by security. Never saw the payment in my account and within 14 hours account was blocked. They told my nan security rejected and cancelled the payment. They were unable to contact her to make sure it was legit.0

How many transactions have been going through your account? Is this a business ?Geopar said:
If someone has bought something off me surely they would message me first via ebay or facebook marketplace to advise they havent received an item or a refund. I have had none of this and have refunded buyers where I have needed too.
The source of some of the funds you have received may well be questionable.
Claiming non receipt is a standard scammers trick. Keep the goods and get their money back.0 -
Thank you. I will try and not worry but sometimes you can't help it! thank youpbartlett said:Try not to worry it happens quite a lot - hopefully they will just unblock your account.
Meanwhile maybe apply for another account just in case? Maybe a Monzo or Starling, or a different high st bank0 -

My mum sent me £15 which I went and spent as soon as she sent it to me (this was the same day & then my nan tried to make a payment in the evening) I have had the odd £10 prior to that which was never a problem.0 -
If someone would claim not to get something thats horrible.Thrugelmir said:

But even if someone geneuinelly hadnt got something theres no reason they cant message me and let me know! I would of been more than happy to help them so if this is the case then this would make me fustrated.0 -
They really aren't allowed to speak to you about it, it's madness. My account with first direct was blocked, including freezing the money and it went on for months. Fortunately I have other accounts and enough to get by, I don't know what I would have done if it had left me without money. They eventually closed my account but still wouldn't tell me why, and transfered my balance to my other account.
Do open another account and make sure you spread funds around a bit, you're lucky you can still get your money but not being able to use the card in the current climate must be difficult.
Don't stress over the reason why, it's highly unlikely to be an unsatisfied customer unless you are selling very high value items or you've had a huge number of complaints/charge-backs.
Do check your credit report incase your identity has been stolen.0 -
Thank you that has made me feel a bit better.pat1976 said:They really aren't allowed to speak to you about it, it's madness. Items were no more than £20/£25 mostly done through paypal with no problems. Some through marketplace with bank but not many as I dont like giving out my details and nobody has messaged me to say theyve had a problem.
When they don't speak to you about it makes it feel so much worse! Thank you for the reassurance, its nice to know im not the only person this has happened too. The bank have told me to wait 10 days. Did you receive a letter to say your account was closed and was their a reason stated on the letter at all?
I've had no complaints off anyone, no messages to say any problems which makes me feel its not that.0 -
It is probably sensible to complain to your MP as this refusing to talk to people has become silly (and the banks seem to blame parliament for the situation).

Well it was parliament that passed the legislation creating the offence of tipping off, although that doesn't necessarily mean that it's not being interpreted a bit over-zealously sometimes....brianposter said:It is probably sensible to complain to your MP as this refusing to talk to people has become silly (and the banks seem to blame parliament for the situation).3 -
Even more silly that people make such daft ill informed comments. That do little more than waste valuable time. I blame social media for the lack of productivity as a result.brianposter said:It is probably sensible to complain to your MP as this refusing to talk to people has become silly (and the banks seem to blame parliament for the situation).4
