Single brick extension

Here’s a pic of a bare part of the existing extension we emptied it out yesterday shows the ground and brick inside. The entrance we’re looking through will be bricked up with a window as this will be downstairs toilet. Yes we’re renovating the whole house, upstairs bedrooms are all done so just moving onto downstairs. We’ve got to knock a wall out downstairs at minimum for the new kitchen and will likely still do that with adding the extension for a large open plan space.

If you're adding an extension to square things off, you're going to want an entire new roof on that area anyway for it to match up.The floor level will want to match that of the back room, so you'll probably end up digging that floor up (and subsequently insulating it) if it isn't level with the back room.
Which leaves you with some walls with no windows. Building control may well allow an amount of insulation on those walls as they are.The conversation needs to be had with your builder as a part of working out what you want to do and working through the budget, but I'm as clear as princeofpounds is that whatever you do, building control approval is an important part of it.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
