My mistake it was fund units..keep calling them shares...oops!

With funds you get the price at the next pricing point, which is once daily ( actual time varies between funds) .
Plus the platform will have an earlier cut off time and if you buy/sell after that you will not get the next pricing point but the one after that .
Then it can take another couple of days for the deal to be settled .
Some platforms /companies ( usually the more expensive ones ) will help to speed up the process if you switch between funds , by not waiting for the sale of one fund to be settled before making the purchase of another one.0
