Resprayed Panel

My wife and I have just bought a used car. When delivered we did a good inspection having done what we could remotely and noticed paint on the rubber seals. On a closer inspection one panel has been resprayed.
I like my car, a now 6 year old BMW Series1 that I have owned from it being 2 months old, to look nice and it does look nice from normal viewing distance. Close up there are plenty of scratches and marks on the paint work but I really can't be bothered worrying about them on what is basically a tool to get me from A to B and back again. If it was an expensive glamour car perhaps I would care more but it is just a functional transport machine.
It had a repair at the rear driver's side corner four years ago from a minor accident while it was parked. I still can't see the repair and I know exactly where to look.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -
You could try the old fashioned (and prepared to be corrected if it doesn't work anymore for whatever reason) method of getting a decent magnet - and put a thin soft cloth over it - and then move it around the wing where the spray has occurred - and then do the same on the other side. If it all feels about the same 'tension' - then you're at least not looking at 12 tubs of filler - and most likely just a parking scrape blowover. If it does feel different though, then that would indicate the presence of filler - and then I'd certainly be wanting to send it back.1
