Trying to buy a mobile phone online... when you don't have access to a mobile phone

EchoLocation said:It just seems such a stupid oversight to not consider that you might not have access to a phone all the time. Particularly if you are trying to buy a phone!Perhaps its your oversight for not having a spare phone (even a cheapy 2G one that can only do calls and texts. That would have got you into your Amazon account) in the first place

Most of the major supermarkets sell a wide range of phones - they're still open.1

May be buying from amazon or ebay?
I don't think those require bank app for transaction if you set up previously.1 -
Do we all do these things differently? I don't think I've ever needed a mobile phone to buy anything.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.1

True, but quite often when you use a click and collect service you tend to get texts/emails sent to your phone which you then use when going to collect your goods. Doesn't stop you from printing the info out if you don't have a phone handy though.EssexExile said:Do we all do these things differently? This is one of the issue with setting up 2 factor authentication to be your phone number.
Is there not a recovery option you can use to get in for your bank to change you settings, maybe by PC.
We lost a phone recently and had this issue with an account,(can't remember which one) eventually got it to use email to authenticate.
