I have been an Gold account holder at TSB for around 25 years. I received the e mail yesterday advising that the 'fee waiver' would come to an end in May. I was surprised as I was not aware that there was a fee waiver in place, and have been paying the account fee for years - perhaps I missed this when opening the account all those years ago, and I don't have the documents from that time.  I have checked all the account terms and conditions that are on the TSB website and can find no mention of a fee waiver - only that the account cost is £180 per year which is £15 a month. Surely this should be mentioned as part of the Gold account terms and conditions ?  Does anyone know if this is mentioned in the T&C's that were published from when Lloyds and TSB split in 2013 ?
Does this help (it references the fee waiver)?

(try searching on google rather than searching within the TSB site)

Just received a letter with the same change from Lloyds - fee waiver will end from 1st Sept.

The letter's not very clearly worded so may contact them for clarification.

How to downgrade is my next thought. I only use the breakdown cover and I've found that for £59 elsewhere.

In he olden days, you would log on via a computer, and there would be an option to change the account type.

You may be interested to hear there is a new PAYG breakdown App called RexQ.
I think you get people to bid to sort you out. I've not used it, but it maybe worth installing on your phone now, should you ever need it.

On online banking there is a 'Change account' option for me, which offers Spend & Save and Spend & Save Plus.

Yes looked for the change account/downgrade account type link. I cant find one. Lloyds have one which I used to downgrade Club Lloyds.

    Existing customer?

If you have a Classic Plus or Classic Enhance account, you can change to a Spend & Save account here. To change another account to a Spend & Save account, please visit your local branch.

Not sure what happens if you put a non-Classic account in to that form, but it seems like the other option is to go to a branch.

Yes I have the legacy gold service account so it appears a branch visit is needed.
