Easyjet Refund Timescale?

  • I am the same as superbigal, even the same dates. I called when the refund didn't arrive and had a case opened. The response from that was no action as it had already been done! Tried Twitter, and was told the same but then asked for me to be patient as they are busy. Round and round we go.

Refunds team won't be in control of the company's cashflow.  Easyjet are no doubt waiting for new bookings to fund outgoings. Little chance of speaking to whoever is controlling the purse strings at the current time.

The point is to find out if these "processed" refunds are untruths or not.
If a pattern of refunds not reaching bank accounts emerges then ........
In the balance of fairness it would be useful for a few contributors to confirm the refund did land as advised.
  • Hi all,
I am in a similar situation to superbigal. My flights were cancelled so requested a refund early in February. Received an email on 7th February to confirm the refund had been processed but have only received a portion of it (I paid £16 to change the original flights which is the amount I've been refunded). I'm still waiting for the larger portion of the refund.
I called Easyjet this morning and they've raised a case with their finance team, so hopefully that will give them a bit of a nudge. Will keep you all updated.

I filled out the refund 20th January, got the first email confirmation shortly after. Received the refund processed email 17th February yet still not received money back to Credit Card. Rang today and got through in less than 5 minutes (shocked) and they told me last 4 digits of card had been processed a refund 16th Feb and to contact the Credit Card company. My wife rung them yesterday and they said they had received no refund and to contact Easyjet so round and round we go !
Interesting as I also got the email refund bang on 30 days on 22nd Feb.   Still no sign of money so I call them back today.  No waiting like you say.  Very clearly point out I have checked with my bank..  They acknowledge Refund amount and correct card authorised on 21st Feb and yes I should have the refund by now.   Did not send me back to bank.  Fired off some email to the "Refunds" team who now have 7 days to respond.  All of this added to my booking notes.
Now the cynic in me says they possibly did not actually refund and wait on patient customers like me poking them a 2nd time.  Will come back and update if I get the refund or not within next 7 days.
Rang again today and this time I told them I had contacted the bank and it had not been received. She said due to it being more than 7 days she will raise a call with the Finance team to investigate this further. So its right if you say you havent contacted your bank then they fob you off with the excuse and do nothing but if you say you have contacted the bank then you get the raise a call speech. Terrible customer service obvious they are working to a procedure and waiting for the customer to prompt what has been done and not advise or ask what has been done. So will see in 7 days awaiting the email.

Something definitely going on with refunds though!

Update time. My refund has now appeared in my Credit Card account this morning.
Also it is dated with the 21st February as advised.
Now again I suspect this is not 100% truthful and they will have done the "real refund" after my call.
Keep an eye on your accounts for similar patterns.
  • I started the charge back process a couple of days ago as I was fed up with being fobbed off and lo and behold my money arrived back to my credit card today. So clearly when they told me it had been done on 13th Feb they weren't being truthful.  They definitely won't be my first choice for flights in the future thats for sure.

My refund appeared in my account yesterday and was dated 14th February as they advised. Very odd.

Yep refund has now appeared dated 16th February. I reckon Easyjet fob us off on first query just so they can get extra interest on our refund then only refund on 2nd query!
