Thank you for the info everyone, guess it's wait and see then.
Re the existing dint - I also sent photos dated from years before that show the dint existing and provided details of my mechanic who had serviced and mot'd the cars a few weeks before this farce. Also all via email so that I had a timed and dated record of everything. I never even got a confirmation of receipt from admiral hence my first chasing up call nearly a month after. Then 2 months after that. During which time nothing had changed. I get that they are busy - evident from being on hold for 45 mins - but as you said Sandtree, if they picked up the phone and asked I bet that the other side would have gone 'oops not the right one sorry'. It just seems to be fraught with terrible communication.1 -

As a former claims handler I developed a little blackbook of telephone numbers that gets through to the backend technical teams of different insurers but in my day Aviva for example probably had over 30 different claims teams and so all we can do is call the same number you do and try to find the right one and if I am on hold 45 minutes trying to get through to Aviva then you are going to be on hold trying to get through to me.
Hence we end up with the frustrating situation for all that just another chaser email/letter is posted out that just adds to the backlog that your last one is still sat in.1 -
I didn't appreciate you had to call the same numbers, I kind of assumed insurers would have their own lines for dealing with claims. My bad! That makes more sense as to why it's taking so loooooooooong. Covid won't be helping either. Joy. Best go get on with pet insurance comparisons, that's also going to be fun as doggy no2 has passed the magic 7 years old rip off threshold. February is my insurance month of doom 😅0

An allegation has been made. Nobody has decided whether the OP is or is not liable, yet.

1) Policyholder comms
2) Court papers
3) Threats of court
4) Own suppliers
5) Third party representatives (insurers, solicitors etc)1 -
I'm not sure if this has been clarified ... is it the other party's insurer who are claiming against your insurer, or is it the other party themselves who are claiming directly off your insurer? (I don't know if this matters, but it might).Jenni x1
-
I have no idea Jenni, I think it's the other party's insurers from the wording admiral have given me in 'updates' but I have been given no info apart from the date of the alleged incident and the original text that I can't find which I'm sure said about reversing into someone at red lights.0
-
Let's be realistic, someone rear ended a party, they then lied to the insurer about being reversed into and got the details wrong. Depressing as it plays out but you should be able to claim back the reduced premiums when it's resolved. Make sure you keep PDFs or screen shots of things like bills from your holiday proving you were nowhere near the scene1

OP, is it your renewal quote with Admiral that has gone up, or have all quotes you have had gone up? If the former, might just be them wanting to get rid of a perceived risk (rightly or wrongly). I'd shop around.1
