That's a shame. Why not have a word with Octopus, they might be happy to send out an IHD6 or advise if the Chamelion has an equivalent setting somewhere!

Hi SC, received an email yesterday from Octopus to say we have now been placed on the Go Faster tariff. Subsequently realised that the IHDU shows Import or Export in both pence and Watts. Prior to this, Import was indicated only as a proportion of a circle with no figures accompanying!

What are the specific issues between smart meters and solar? I have only heard of the non-smart meters having issues, going backwards, going dead etc.
I have recently installed a PV system and will be moving to a SMART meter soon. So interested.
Thanks, CTRemember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0 -

There were some electronic (but not smart) meters that didn't check which way the current was flowing. So the readings went up whether you were importing or exporting.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.2 -
I am paid for deemed export based on the amount of solar power generated. When I looked a smart meters a couple of years ago I was concerned that I might be forced to use actual export and lose-out financially.Reed0

Before I retired I think I would have been better off with actual export, no way that I even used 50% of my generation. Not the case now when I use about 80% but even with the smart meter I am still on deemed 50% export for FIT purposes

No idea but I have never heard of it happening and TBH I wouldn't mind, it would actually be fair and reasonable to only get paid for what I did export..
