ISA or Savings Acc?

Hi ,newbie here.
I’ve had a quick look through previous posts but still not clear on the best option.
I want to open a savings account or ISA for my grandsons, they are 7 and 6 and would like the policy or account to be accessible at either 18 or 21. (Possibly opening the account with 2k each)

I’m not sure which is the best option for return?
I’ve tried talking to my bank but due to Covid I’ve found the information given over the phone very limited.
Thanks in advance.

https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/junior-isa/ is a good place to start, although the money is accessible at 18 not 21.
You can choose a cash JISA or a stocks & shares JISA - the latter involves more research but is probably more suitable than the former over a 10+ year period as it should deliver a better return over that timescale.
The fact that you've found your way to this site means that you obviously have internet access, which should provide a much better source of information that can be perused at your leisure, rather than trying to asking underpaid and underinformed customer service agents over the phone!0 -
