I hear you. I am down to one teen needing school uniform. This year and next. Unfortunately this is the fashion conscious teen who thinks a new look is required each year. I will require my strongest negotiating skills….wish me luck 🍀

Cancelled the reserved mortgage fix and reserved another for 4.73 and took another month off it. New fix starts August 1st. Added another over payment. Hopefully by July 31st we’ll be at 34,500. All being well we’ll be mortgage free by July 2029.

I know, it’s exciting. I’ve had 3 years in my head for a while. It’ll be nice to start ticking through those months.

I reread some of my early posts this morning, we have come a long way. I no longer have sleepless nights about the mortgage. Even if it’s not paid in the 3 years, the term is now 6 years. It will be gone before retirement. It’s a nice position to be in (even if I do envy peers who have been mortgage free for a while).

Oh I don’t know. It’s helpful to be aware others the same age or younger have achieved my goal. It’s therefore a realistic goal. The fact I’m envious means it’s important to me and I’m impatient to get there (hence cutting 2 months off the mortgage in recent weeks). I also realise however there are many my age and older who would love to be in my position. As I reflected before, I can sleep now. I want the mortgage gone but it isn’t the financial burden it once was. That’s a good position to be in.

I’ve cut the front grass. Having a break and will tackle the back. Mr A has powerhosed the decking and cars. Aiming to get out and buy some new plants later. We ate in the garden yesterday - lovely 😻
