Nothing from SSPA - October was the deadline for a statement, so still no pension statement since 2022. Incredibly frustrating. I’m now 50 and not knowing what my current pension looks like makes forward planning very difficult.

Mortgage should go below £42000 later this month with overpayment. Keeping an eye on current account- our very high expenditure over the past month has meant we don’t have as much in the account as usual but I’ve decided as our mortgage payments will increase next year due to us shortening the term we may as well start paying an additional £100 to the mortgage just now. It will make it less painful when we switch next September. This will keep us on track to be mortgage free at the end of that fix. All being well 46 months of mortgage payments to go.

  • How frustrating regarding the.pension statement. 46 months is a great target.
Aiming to early retire August 31st 2026.

@AgathaSquirrel that is frustrating re the statement but congratulations on your overpayment and sheer determination!  Might it be worth calling the pension people? Or if you've done that, a complaint may be coming.  They might pay compo for the inconvenience and sheer incompetence.   Love Humdinger xx

AgathaSquirrel, my DH had the same problem with SPPA and he eventually decided to contact our MSP and his Union (on separate occasions/years) and they managed to get SPPA to generate up-to-date statements on his behalf.
